When to book treatments before a big event
Count backwards from the date so every treatment has peaked and every bit of redness or swelling is gone.
How far ahead to book each treatment
| Treatment | Book this long before | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Botox | 2 to 4 weeks | Full effect at about 2 weeks, time for a top-up |
| Dermal filler | 2 to 4 weeks | Swelling and bruising settle |
| Chemical peel (medium) | 2 to 4 weeks | Peeling and redness need time |
| Laser resurfacing | 2 to 4 weeks, more for stronger lasers | Redness can last 1 to 2 weeks |
| Microneedling | 1 to 2 weeks | Redness for a few days |
| Hydrating facial | 2 to 5 days | Any flare-ups calm down |
| Brow shaping or tint | 2 to 4 days | Redness fades, colour softens |
| Lash lift or extensions | 1 to 3 days | Fresh but settled |
| Manicure | 1 to 2 days | No chips |
Don't try something new right before the day
An event is not the time for a first treatment. If you have never had a product or procedure, try it months earlier so you know how your skin reacts and how long your downtime really is.
Plan it backwards
Start with the date, then put each treatment in your calendar at the right distance. Keep a note of what you had and how your skin looked afterwards; next time you'll know exactly how far ahead you need.
Pick your event date and a treatment: Glamdu works out when to book so results peak and downtime is over in time.
